Ron, Sorry if my post wasn't explicit, but yes changing a surname after marriage is a legal name change. That is why I include the "legal name change for some other reason" to indicate that marriage wasn't the only way a legal name change could transpire. Hope this clarifies my intent. Bill Bill

[LegacyUG] Recorded and Cittion Dates

A Source Citation when printed on any report includes two dates a Recorded Date, which comes from the Master Source List, and a Citation Date, which comes fromi the Source Detail. What is the exact intent of each of those dates and, more specifically, how should they be used? Thanks, To

Tom, I have always taken it that the two dates denote when the Sources were establised. Being a lumper I have many Detail Sources attached to each Master Source so the dates between the two can be very different. Having said that, I do not use the Recoded Date for when the Master Sources were
