When I look at descendants report, I don't see the option to include
parents of spouses. However, I do see the option when going through the
following steps:
from the descendant screen, click on the print icon on the right hand
side of the screen
select descendant (chart)
select report options
Even weirder!!
I closed Legacy and restarted - now my parents of spouses are back. I still
can't figure out what the trigger is.

Hi Tom
This is weird and/or annoying!
I had parents for spouses showing on both ancestor and descendant reports
until I looked at the report options to figure out what I had checked. The
only thing I could think of was 'other parents/other spouses' and unchecked
the 'other spouses' box. Now I can
I do transcribe everything now. I lost everything when my computer crashed beyond repair, I had no capabilities to make backup copies on cd or floppy, although I did manage to send my files to Rootsweb and a backup email account. I am hesitant on even downloading images now, since this computer is
Jennie,
Where did you get the obituary? That's how you should source it. You may
have viewed a digital image, but your source was the website where you
viewed it. Attaching a digital copy to the source (or citation detail) is
always a good idea.
Have I understood you properly?

Okay, I misunderstood the first time. I do both, too. I type it in to the
"text of source" tab, but also attach a digital image. If there is data that
I wish to appear in a chronology report, I also type (or cut and paste) it
into an event.

I do both. The typed version goes into Death Notes, and the scanned
copy goes into my digital Source Library. If it's also on paper I file
the paper in my paper filing system.
I think Geoff's system involved putting obits as Events, otherwise the
'tip' doesn't work. Whatever.

I do both. I can search and otherwise work with the typed text, while
the scanned copy is there to verify the typed copy is correct. Same
with birth, marriage and death certificates and any other documents.

When I print the descendants report I would like it to print the names of
the parents for each spouse.
I am not seeing that in either the Register or Modified Register formats and
I couldn't find a box to check to make this happen.
Suggestions?

Isn't this off topic for the Legacy list?

I thought the proper thing to do was to let the kids (5-18 y/o) wait and the
old folks, disabled and parents with small kids go first. When I was kid I
was taught to respect and defer to my elders. It seems that is a lost
concept today.
BTW, kids today DO take all the good stuff first.

Carl,
Have you added this suggestion via the Ver. 6 Legacy Home Tab? On the
right hand side is a button to select where you can submit ideas.
I recommend keeping a Notepad (TXT) file on your computer where you
list the ideas you suggest over the years, dated with the wording of
the suggestion. Thi

Same debate going on in head as well. At first, I entered census data for a
couple just under the marriage. But, then I would find cases where the
couple were in different households, like after the death of a spouse or
when someone went off to war for a spell. If I only put a census (for
