Who has access to new FamilySearch?
Currently, the new FamilySearch is being rolled out to members of The
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in select geographic areas
of the world. This also applies to access to new FamilySearch through
the FamilySearch API.
After new FamilySearch

Nina,
Remember that all you need to do is to go to a picture in Legacy. When it
cannot be found, I prefer to opt to search myself (as I know where it is), and
select that picture. Legacy will then find all the pictures it uses from the
selected folder. You need to do this for one picture

volunteers in the local Family History Centers in those states where
nFS has been rolled out. That is generally all states - except parts
of Utah and Idaho. So, if you live in the other 48 are a volunteer

I wonder if there will be a subscription fee for non-LDS members for the new

Not quite correct. The FHC Director has to request access for non-LDS
volunteers. Currently, those volunteers get full access. When the program is
opened to the general public it will be configured similarly to the existing
FamilySearch site, where LDS ordinance information is only displayed to
I'm confused about this message thread. I don't see what this has to do
with Legacy, but yet this thread is allowed. Others messages that don't
directly apply to Legacy are banned and people threatened with
banishment, even tho they may be asking for genealogy help. Different

I think it's because it was originally possible to access family
search directly from Legacy and that was what some people were trying
to establish - but I agree it did seem to drift off topic after that!

I don't think it's drifted off-topic at all. The assertion was made

undergoing the certification process which is taking longer than expected - see

They are currently two different web sites. The original FamilySearch is still
functional and open to anyone (but again, ordinance info is restricted to LDS
members).

I don't know quite what your setup is there since I don't make web pages
this way. But, if this might work for you it works well. Get a good
text editor, if you don't have one, like Notepad++ or PSPad, both free,
and do a global search and replace. One click, about 5 seconds and
you're done.

I seem to recall a discussion a while back regarding photo handling
in legacy but cannot recall the right terminology in order to do a
search in the archives. I hope that if I explain what I am looking
