Hi

Can anyone help with a problem I have when printing a Family Group Report page. For some reason, it cuts off the text and lines three-quarters of the way down the page e.g. it will print the Child's name and all the text but the lines and border belonging ot this page are printed print over on the next page.

If anyone can assist, I would be really grateful. I use Legacy 5.

Regards
Donna from Oz

To fit more people on a reasonable sized wall chart, you need the ability to move branches and families around so you don't end up with 12 ft long and a few inches high.

You can do this in TreeDraw. I keep siblings all on the same level but stagger their children or descendants. With use, you get pretty quick at grouping and ungrouping in order to shift people and groups around.

I use different coloured connecting lines for each major branch so the chart can be followed pretty easily. To do this I don't import everyone I want to chart at the same time but import in groups.

But I've only charted about 500 people.

That's why I'm always bemused by people asking for a "chart everyone" ability - or report everyone. Quite unmanageable and my file isn't anything near as big as many. I've about 11,000 people in my file.

Cheers,
Cathy

This may be neither here nor there, but somewhere in the Charting Companion instructions it says that something like only 400 or 500 people can be adequately charted at a time, and I believe that now. I tried a file of 1800 people on a Kinko's plotter, and it printed to a sheet 12 ft long but only few inches high in font too small to read.
