Tom:
The only thing you can do, at this point, is to make one a male and connect
them together that way. The program is not set up for same gender connections.
You can put in the notes the actual gender - or you could put in the "Title
Suf" (female).

I place mine there as I very seldom use reports - I like to have the
cemetery name showing on the main screen, and in the list of names as it
helps me narrow down which person I'm looking for. I used to put the
cemetery name in as a cemetery "event" but it was a hassle for me to have to

This is scary. Is this a known bug? Has anyone looked at her message

I have had the capability to download v7 for five days,
Have Version 7 and thought I'd try out the backup and restore function of
the program since I have a new laptop that I want to put the program and
files on.
I was able to successfully back-up the family file and the multimedia files
on my main computer, put them on a flash drive, then download
I sent this almost 24 hours ago now, and it hasn't come through on my end at
all, so I thought I'd try it again. Could use a little help.

Yes, Legacy 7 does convert the older back up database. I had a version 6
backup that I just successfully restored the family file on - and as it was
restoring a pop-up appeared and said that changes were made to the program,
and it needed to convert the file - and it did.

I really appreciate hearing this! The mapping function is something I most
likely wouldn't utilize at all - so then it won't be a problem for me! For
some reason I was thinking it was the program itself that used IE7 (don't
know where that thought came form).
So, now I'm a happy camper again!
Oh dear, then it looks like I won't be utilizing the new program anytime
soon. I had IE uninstalled since I exclusively use FireFox. Oh well, glad I
really like the version I have!

Most likely the person whose gender is greyed out is a spouse of another
person, and therefore unable to switch genders. There may be a quicker way, but
what I do is:
Unlink the two people, change each person's gender then link them back together.

haven't gotten into a tenth of the stuff that everyone else uses in the program.
It's a great program, easy to use for the basics. Onc

In order to get Legacy to let you put the names the way you want, go to
