Me too - I second this. One can waste a lot of time during the
'waffle' watching a video, but could read the pertinent points in
half-a-minute if it were written down.

Dick Eastman has a solution for dial-up on his web page comments. Just
scroll down the page and you will see the question asked about dial-up

I agree; a text document can be searched for key words and items of
interest can easily be extracted for future reference.
I may be more critical of quality/quantity of content than most people
because of being a technical instructor for a number of years, but most of
the audio/video interviews
Of course, the same can be said for any linear, real time-based based form of
communication, whether a telephone call, watching a movie, a school lesson, the
minister's sermon, etc. There is no way to tell until the communication is
concluded if there was content of interest, or how much.
will probably view the video.

While this might be long for a commercial, it is a wonderful description of
Legacy.
Dick is interviewing Ken McGinnis and a wonderful descripition of the Legacy
Program
is given. I am saving the link for those wanting to find a genealogy
program.

I would love to hear some of the interviews that folks are now putting
up on a variety of topics, but I do so wish they would remember that
many of us are trapped on dial-up. Trying to download video and audio

I can not help with that but it is also being discussed on another list I

one you really
want to see and spend the time, you might try the sight and just go away and
wait for it
to download.
This may help. In the USA, many public libraries offer
internet connections for cheap/free connections.
Before I could get DSL, I frequently went to one,
fought to get a desk, and did the gedcoms and like
stuff to my 'floppy disks', then carried the disks
home to download. Not a great thing but

I actually do that with some things although it ties up my telephone for

something to the effect that it is unavailable to me.

I remember what it was like before DSL. I feel for
anyone still in 'the back country'. I wonder if you
have a Legacy Group in your country, near your house?
Someone there may be able to help? You might want to
contact Legacy about this.

delighted as well as surprised. I timed the internet speed
