I'm new to Legacy (using v6.0 Deluxe) and am trying to understand how
best to use it's capabilities for basic project management. In my
mind, I see the project as a high-level goal, which can broken in
mid-level goals that can be grouped by individual. Each of these lower
level goals, may be broken down into a series of interrelated tasks.

For example:

* High-level - Obtain documentation for vital statistics of
direct-line ancestors for 6 generations.

* Mid-level - Obtain long form birth certificate for paternal grandmother.

* Tasks -
(a) Learn grandmother's name at death (which might be broken down
again into various activities).
(b) Learn date and place of death.
(c) Apply for (and hopefully obtain) death certificate using (a) and (b).
(d) Learn name at birth.
(e) Learn date and place of birth.
(f) Learn name of parents, including mother's maiden name.
(g) Obtain written consent from next of kin for birth certificate.
(h) Apply for long form birth certificate with (c) through (g).

Both high-level and mid-level goals seem very well defined from the
onset. The lowest level tasks would be more dynamic, changing
depending of the results of previous tasks.

So, it would seem that mid-level goals, with their overall status,
belong in the Research panel of Notes for an individual. The lowest
level tasks would be To-Do items. Only the High level view seems to be
missing. Maybe this would be the To-Do Report?

Basically, I'm looking for some way to know which individuals have
been "completed" in terms of documentation so that I don't need to
look at them any further. Perhaps, I could create a dummy To-Do item
for each mid-level goal that I could close once all the *real* To-Do
items related to that goal have been completed successfully?

Thank you for reading this far and I would appreciate suggestions on
how to approach this.
