I have an event called "Miscellaneous Notes" which I use. As I have
not associated any specific sentence structure with it and it
includes only notes and sources, it allows me to do just what you
suggest below in your email.

Sources are associated with an item, such as the Notes block - not the
separate pieces of the text in the item. The only way to associate a
source and a date with a specific line in the Notes block is to add it
