(entire) descendant list you are right. But as an Innocent user I
would expect that when I pick a person and the descendant list that I
get the descendants of this person in the focus group...but clearly

It sounds like you have chosen "entire descendant line" which picks
up ancestors of descendants and all sorts of people. I never use the
"entire" options as I have too many intermarriages between branches
and end up with most of my tree. Use "Descendants"
