You've had a couple of good suggestions in other notes. My 2 cents: I use a MRIN-type naming, but most all are in a MRIN+Surname+Given Name+type of image format. The type could be various descriptors, e.g. census, will etc, it may have a year or date, it may have some other cue such as

Whatever you use has to be consistent and logical to YOU first so you can find all the photos easily. For me that means a Legacy folder, with subfolders logical to me by subparts of my family, and names always identifying the people (L-R in the pic) by their full name (including First, all

First an IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are going to rename images that you have attached to Legacy, you MUST use the Picture Center to do the renames OR you will have to REATTACH EVERY IMAGE after it is renamed. If you use the Picture Center to rename, you will not need to do this. Now, my response. I
