You've had a couple of good suggestions in other notes. My 2 cents:
I use a MRIN-type naming, but most all are in a MRIN+Surname+Given
Name+type of image format. The type could be various descriptors, e.g.
census,
will etc, it may have a year or date, it may have some other cue such as
