Debbie,
It's getting late again and I've just got the implication of your email. Are
you reading the emails directly from AOL's server? If so why not configure
Outlook Express, or download Thuinderbird and configure them to get your emails
from AOL and then configure the folders?

The easiest solution is probably to get a free gmail or hotmail account
and use that email address for the LegacyUG. You can check the messages
when you have time and the huge storage allowed at gmail should hold
several years of Legacy emails.

Hi Debbie,
No, there is no digest option for this list. Yes, I think you should

I use Gmail for my Legacy group mail. It permits me to develop labels for
any number of interest groups or email senders. I can then sort my mail by
these components, which makes it dead easy to look at all the Legacy mail in

I'll third the web version of Gmail. The filtering and label system,
for me, is superior to other clients and makes it so easy to organize
my email without having to worry about the old fashioned 'one place to
store' system. For email related to my family, Legacy or anything
genealogy, I can label
Another thought would be to have an e-mail address (since you can have a
couple with AOL) just for Legacy or just for genealogy. That way you can
open that AOL account when you have the time to read it.

I wanted to thank everyone that helped me out with the great suggestions on
how to deal with all the email from this list. I signed up for a gmail
account and subscribed under that new email address. I will be unsubscribing
this
email address.
Thanks again

I wish that were the case, John. I created a second gmail address to handle
the LUG mail. I haven't checked if for several months. I used 45% of my
allotted storage as compared to 24% in my other account which I've had for
8 years. I had to start weeding. And to think I started out trying to
Donna asked "Does the site have an archive for help topics? Where do I
find that?"
Every post to the list has a link in the footer taking you to the
archives, where you can search or browse.
Hope this helps. :-)
