It's not the hard drive you are waiting for but for the power to
drain out of all the circuits. That takes at least 30 seconds if not longer.
There was a news article this week about the possibility of even
breaking encryption because of this fact that it takes time for power
to be lost and th
A full power down is often helpful, but I don't believe it is necessary to
wait 5 minutes. Once the hard drive has spun down completely you can power
on again. That is probably less than 30 seconds. And I don't know if that is
even necessary with modern hard drives since there is not that wait w
