Debbie,
Tag the cousin and direct line ancestors to the one you have selected, export
the tagged names to a new Legacy file and create an Ancestor report using that

Morris,
I did not say that it couldn’t be opened on 2 (or more) PCs at the same time.
What I did say was that this is definitely not recommended, and with Dropbox,
can cause the creation of conflicting files. It is an inherently dangerous
practice.

I use SugarSync to synchronize all of my genealogy files. It allows me to
synchronize between all of my devices and serves as a real-time back-up for
the files. I've had it running on the same machines as Dropbox and as
Trend Micro's SafeSync with no problems.

My wife and I have found that Legacy is the only software on the market that
will allow two people to access the database. The exception is that both can
not merge at the same time.
I have the database on an external hard drive on the network. We both access

I do, and have for a long time, w/o any problems with WIN 7 on a Dell

Do any of you use Dropbox and Carbonite on the same computer? I had just

I too use and would suggest Dropbox. I also fully endorse Bruce’s comments on
usage. To put it another way: do not have Legacy open on two (or more)
computers at the same time.

I use an external hard drive for my Legacy family tree and all its components.
There has been some talk of Dropbox being of use between two computers. As
yet, I haven’t tried it out.
Yes, that is a question I have had too. I find records and attach them to my

The simple answer to syncing all three is NO.
But between the two computers if you were to use a “Cloud” server to save your
file to, then you would have only one.

Clear them all and retry. It should work properly after the cache has been
