My wife and I have found that Legacy is the only software on the market that will allow two people to access the database.  The exception is that both can not merge at the same time.    I have the database on an external hard drive on the network.  We both access that hard drive at the same time

I do not know if you are trying to update using the update from the Web or the full version. I recommend you use the full update version and tell IE to save the installer file in a folder on your hard drive. I recommend using My Documents not the desktop since the icon for the installer and Legacy
