I would like to size my chart boxes according to individual width requirements
.. not the same size for all boxes alike, which yields gaping side space on a
lot of my chart boxes. Does Legacy have such an adjustment?

It is NOT a fact that you have newer machines. It has always been this way and
is NOT just with Legacy. Unless you have printers that can produce very large
print outs (much larger than 11x17) there is no need in having these very large
image files.
Most printer are good for about 300 dots
I need more information on exactly where you are when searching for
temple records. Is it in Legacy Family Search or one of the search
options in Legacy Family Tree?
