I too thought it was an error, however, I examined my website which was created from a GEDCOM created in a previous version before this error check (which showed I had 7 of these errors), I examined all seven of those individuals who were never married, however they did show an empty Family record

Legacy will happily accept a person with only a surname entered. You can add the child as a normal child using the surname of the parent(s) without a given name and you can, if the gender is unknown, indicate that when entering the child. Unknown gender is the ? beside the M and F in the

For any person where I don't know their name, I put a description in the Given field, surrounded by privacy brackets. It then looks like these: [[Unknown infant]] [[Daughter 2]] [[Kay's mother]] This way, I can withhold this non-name from reports if I choose, but there's still something there
