No need to use the Search tab - just use the Index tab in Help. However when I searched on "Half", "The Family View" was the first topic listed, which is where you find the information. If you look up "Family View", which is the tab where you wanted to choose the settings, you would have found th

On the Family View, right click on a child and select View > Show 1/2 kids. This does *not* affect children on the Pedigree View. On the Pedigree View, if you have the Spouse/Child box showing, you see the children of each spouse listed under the spouse. This is not the same as the "Show 1/2 kids

If you've had v7 Deluxe for a while now, you'll have to pay an upgrade fee to have v8 Deluxe when it arrives, just as you do to go from v6 Deluxe to v7 Deluxe. If you've only bought it recently, check the date in the announcement as to when purchasers will get a free upgrade. Hope this helps. :-
