Hi Alexa,
As others have already mentioned, Legacy does not do automatic updates. You
have to, at the very least, click on the Update tab, then choose to install the

I'd like to know how to prevent automatic updates to Legacy 8.
I've only had the program for about two weeks, am still learning it, and a week
ago, I attempted to add more people and discovered there has been
an update that has made dramatic changes to the interface (ribbon?)!

This is the same type of problem I am having with the Pedigree report that I

I am having a problem with the sentence templates for events. As most of
my events relate to both sexes, I use HeShe a lot. However, as soon as I
save the sentence and go to read it, it is He for both, regardless of
the sex of the person. Yes, I checked the sex of the people involved and

It might be quicker to export John Doe to a new
file and edit him there to have the facts of just one of them - say John Doe 1.
I think it's probably quicker to delete events rather than copy and paste them.
Edit the John Doe in the main file to have the
other facts - he becomes John Doe 2.

The Find whole word only option will only match if your search string is
the only test in the Citation. Turn that off and use the Anywhere in
field option to have Legacy look for sour string within other text. Also
make sure you have selected to replace only the found text.

prior to 1852 are for a John Doe born in Germany who dropped out of sight;
