Hello Jay.
This sounds like something I might be able to solve for you. I am not familiar
with the full history, but if you can send me samples of "before" and "after"
files, I will try to take a look at it. I just ask for patience, it may take a
while in idle periods. Provide a link that I
Thank you, Sherry. I was able to find the detailed search tab and use your
instructions to find the number of notes.
Jay, you had asked about individuals and notes. The file with 141 individuals
has 26 with notes.
The file with 491 individuals has 122 with notes.

Hmmm. That seems like a plan. I have done that on one note, but not left that
screen...now, do I need to save that? I don't see any "save" button.

You could even edit the Notes right from the Search List by bringing the
Notes tab forward

Priscilla,
With that small number I would just create a small report (Like Sherry
mentions) that lists which ones do have notes.
and use that for reference (for the RIN Number) to edit one by one.

There's also a selection for Event Notes to search

Hi Jay,
The most recent file that I downloaded into Legacy as a test was one of
my smaller ones -- 141 individuals. Is there an easy way to see how many have
notes? I don't know how to do that except to count.
One of my larger files has 491 individuals.
I would be glad to

Hello,
I have Legacy 8 Deluxe and have just downloaded the latest update.
It caused my computer to crash and now I cannot open Legacy at all.
It says it is an "unrecognised database format". Any ideas on how to fix
this please?
Thanks.

Thanks Bob and Sherry,
Sadly, Sherry's solution did not work. I guess I will just have to deal
with each of the notes, one by one. I do very much appreciate your suggestion,
Bob, about copying lengthy notes to Word, fixing them there, and then pasting
them back into the notes section.

There is a field in the tblLR (Master Locations Table) called Preposition which
can be set and used in reports as you described. There is also a file
C:\...Documents\Legacy Family Tree\_AppData\Misc\Preposition_English.lst which
is used by the Master Locations List to sort locations. It does i
