My original question has been answered. Prior to copy/paste V7 userdic-au.tlx
file from C:\Legacy\Dictionaries to C:\Users\XXX\Documents\Legacy Family
Tree\_AppData\Dictionaries, (XXX being computer name) plan to open in text
editor and verify entries. Am sure that over the years the

Are dictionaries from V7 [default folder] compatible with V8 and if so can they
be copied across to C:\Program Files (x86)\Legacy8\Dictionaries?
Our L7 dictionaries contain numerous “Change” and “Add” resulting from spell
checking many thousands of events.

Unfortunately when File Maintenance, Check/Repair is run following the Access
work around as Jim suggests, the Gender reverts back to the original setting.

Legacy Charting Companion software includes a "Cousin Smart" option. Have just
run multiple descendant charts from various ancestors and identified a couple
of instances and are indicated by hash lines through the respective chart
boxes. With RIN option ticked, easy to jot down individuals in
