I did put in some feedback several years ago requesting a more 'standard'
decimal degrees form of input eg E143. S36.5000 It would have made
transferring lat and lon a heap easier from georeferenced pictures or
straight out waypoints from a GPS.

As I understand it from my experimentation and reading, the shared event is
not exported in a gedcom for the attached people other than the prime
individual. It's a clean method from a database design approach, but not
good if the shared event is only recognised within the program.
