Messages are coming through as attachments. That is unacceptable from a

Reasonable and understandable on future product direction but not on known and
acknowledged software bugs. Not having a list wastes everyone's time.

I'm not going to argue but in my environment it was and is the norm. But most
software/firmware have a very small number of known bugs.

I have never known software or firmware where you cannot find a known problem

You summarise what the problem is so far as the end user is concerned. We have
no information as to when bugs will be fixed. 2 years is far too long! We don't
understand the process for prioritisation of bugs. From looking at version fix

It is secrecy. The bug list is not publicly available. Let's get version 8
working correctly before worrying about 9 or are we going to 10 as Microsoft
did. Legacy 7 et al was fine. 8 appears to be full of problems. I for one
wished I hadn't upgraded as I am not sure what I got apart from
I agree but it's the failure to make the known problems list available that
concerns me. We are off the original subject now so probably best to close this
debate but Legacy please please please sort the known half cousins relationship
bug. It's causing me so much grief.

Yes. Basic error made by Legacy here is never married is an establishable
fact whereas no relationships is an opinion or guess. A genealogy database is
for facts and not opinions or guesses. I too will put in a request.

It's not just windows it's every system in operation, including the human

does not need to be documented. If legacy had a limit on size of graphics that
would need to be documented but not this. There is no legacy
'Never married' is definitely not the same as 'no relationships' and I am at a
loss as to how anyone at Legacy can think it is. If it was changed for
political correctness which I suspect, surely 'no legalised relationship' would
be better but I suppose that might intimate other relationships
Legacy/Access store documents as txt but word is not a true text editor it is a
docx/rtf editor. Notepad is a true txt editor. Very strange things can happen
when posting from non txt to txt fields. It mainly happens vecause various

What you are doing is standard and quite safe subject to the caviat of regular
backups. If your NAS is raid with redundancy you are safer with photos there
than on the pc with one hard drive that can fail.

I believe you will need to give the NAS drive a drive identifier in my computer
as opposed to connecting via my network.

I believe it may be the pasting action that is causing the problem. If you
paste the edited will into notepad does it format as you require. Make sure you
have wordwrap turned off in notepad. If not correct in notepad then add returns
there and then paste into legacy.

Yes. That works. Thank you. I hadn't realised you could search for a
relationship marker in that way. Bit long winded but gives expected result ie
2600 not 625 or 6500.
But still think it should be an option in advanced tagging, Legacy support
please note.
Thanks
