When you back up, to avoid tons of extra files, you can remove the
date and/or time stamp by clicking on the "Options" button in the
Customize Backup window (File > Backup Family File)

I did backup, I do every time I close Legacy so I always have a bunch
of copies I did close per your suggestion and everything popped up
looking good, does it show corruption immediately?

Did you back up (File > Backup Family File) before starting the
Check/Repair, like the pop-up window recommends? If so, go ahead and
stop the progress and if your file is corrupted from stopping, you can
always restore the backup.

tells you the step in progress there are 171 steps/checks made in the
process. The more errors found that have to be fixed the longer the

Legacy has always run really well for me, but now when I edit places I
was getting errors - so I took my life in my hands and ran file
repair. Just how long will it run? I do have a big file of over 32,000
names, and it is just about 18 hours it has been running. I think I
just need reassurance abo
