Legacy will happily accept a person with only a surname entered. You can
add the child as a normal child using the surname of the parent(s)
without a given name and you can, if the gender is unknown, indicate
that when entering the child. Unknown gender is the ? beside the M and F
in the

[[Unknown infant]]
[[Daughter 2]]
[[Kay's mother]]
This way, I can withhold this non-name from reports if I choose, but
there's still something there
