There is a separate source field for Death Cause.
"Alt" events were created for entering alternate dates. You enter the most
likely date in the Vitals section at the top of the Individual's
Information window and then alt dates and/or locations as events. If you

source to the facts it provided, it also records the date you added it,
so you can see how the research progressed.

Although there is a Death Notes box available and one can enter sources for
the information you put there, when you click on the book icon (to get to
the "Assigned Sources" window, there is no "Death Notes" entry.
The source you entered for "Death Notes" instead shows up under the "Death"
sources.
