Thank you Dennis and Brian, for your input regarding embedded formatting codes. Yes, I do have "Keep embedded formatting codes within text" checked but had no idea that they would appear as actual text in the GEDCOM file. I thought that by keeping them, they would perform their purpose but stay in

I created a GEDCOM file to upload to Rootsweb and it's appearance is not attractive. When copying or entering information in either the Notes or Events Notes field, I try to align all the data using Control+Tab to make the appearance more attractive especially when printing books. But in a GEDCOM
