Hi Wendy, someone suggested I start all over and I did. It seems to be
ok on the computer I am using now, I also have a laptop and haven't
loaded the tree on that one yet.
I would buy the cd training videos, but I can't afford to do that now.
I definitely need to find a webinar that teaches me

I did it again and it seems to be OK. I really need to find some
tutorials on how to use this program, I have had it for a few years
and obviously only know how to add people, but when it comes to doing
other stuff, I am clueless

They're easy to find! Click on HelpShow Help Index and you'll see a
link to Tutorial Lessons in the right-hand pane. I worked through them
all when I first began with Legacy and found them an

I was backing my tree up on a thumb drive and it worked fine. But now
I am at a different location and I think I updated this computer to
the new legacy and the laptop I travel with.
I saw someone saying something about a Dropbox, what is that?
I am glad this is an international forum, anyone

Hi, thank you everyone for the advice, I did try the fix, didn't work.
The family tree on ancestry is correct, trust me, I only add from
confirmed relatives, oh wait, let me say this again, I am the one
doing all the research or teaching others how to do it, another story.
I will try the .fdb
Charani, why do you say why is you did download a tree from Ancestry (very
dodgy move IMO). Why is it dodgy to download my own tree?
Anyway, Ancestry is only letting me download as a gedcom. How do I
download with an .fdb?

You didn't make it clear it was your own tree initially.
Many of the Ancestry trees contain errors.

You don't. What you are being advised is to download the gedcom and
open that into a new Legacy family file which you can then clean up
before merging it with your
Hi everyone, Ok so I do have my own trees on legacy. On Ancestry I
have a tree also and with the very limited family I have found I added
these people on ancestry, actually it was most of my own research so
I could confirm that it was a true relation. Since I don't sync
ancestry and legacy, I

DO NOT delete people willy nilly. You might find that people won't be
connected to anyone then. The only way that I know if is to do a merge.
Legacy can find the dups and automatically delete the definite duplicates.
