That makes sense to me; I think the comment in the past has been that
if we put it in sources that way, we end up with an unwieldy number of
sources to wade through; but for the purposes you mention, I have
considered it too. Sometimes I'll be copying census data into details
of all mentioned indi
since I have to do it for the
entire file.

You can't use Search & Replace? Usually my detail is unique enough to do

Go To View > Master Lists > Sources
Click on the Option button and select print.
On the Include tab you have the option to print the source and all
citations (details) attached to each one.
For each detail you can include the parts of the details you are
interested in.
