Kathy,
If one uses "blank" instead of "unknown", they are also grouped together. As

I've always entered "unknown" simply because I didn't know this new
trick; however, as I've read this thread and considered it, I think I
will continue to use the "unknown" in the name field. I kind of like

I have my computer set for single click to move in the family view. I put a
person in the father/mother position who had no parents nor siblings, then
clicked on one of the parents to move them down. A click on the blank child
position brought up the menu to add a brother or sister, which I did
Not a problem. Just like home. :-)
I, however, know just enough about Legacy to be dangerous (as you can tell)
so I did not know to mention the changed settings. I don't even remember
changing the settings, but apparently I did. My bad... Sorry for the
confusion. Just glad it got figured out

That's because Lana has "To Move Names in Family View" set to
double-click. You have it set to click.

With one of the siblings in the main (center) area of the Family View, I
clicked up above in a blank parent area, which then lowers the main person
down to the children area and brings the blank parents into the main view.
I don't click on the blank parents while they are in the main (center) area

You can't! You can't save a person with no name and if you delete the
parent there is nothing to show that the 2 children are siblings.

I am probably a victim of brain fade but cannot see how I can enter 2 people as
brothers when their parents are both unknown. Do I actually have to enter
fictitious parents first and then the children or can I leave the parents out
of the equation altogether.
Thanks
