I replied too soon - the problem has recurred, and repeating the file maintenance is not fixing the problem this time.

Russ, I am on 7.4.0.45 and use Picture Center frequently. I tried the remove attached picture and could not replicate your problem. It may be possible that you have the same picture attached more than once. Also be sure to run the check/repair in case you have a broken file structure.
