For sale is a 250GB G-DRIVE with two Firewire 800 ports and one Firewire 400
port. This drive does not have any USB ports!

The G-DRIVEs use a fan-less design with unique silent cooling technology,
all aluminum enclosure (looks like part of a G5 or MacPro case) and has a
7200 RPM drive inside. Below is a link to the company's website that shows
the drive and tells you a little bit about how they are made.

Here's a link to the manual for this series of drives.

Please look at the middle photo on page 5 of this manual to see what the
back of my G-DRIVE looks like. The G-DRIVEs are available in a variety of
sizes and connection ports. This one that I am selling is a 250GB HD and
has two Firewire 800 ports and one Firewire 400 port.

I have been using this as my offsite backup drive. I'd bring it home from
work once a month, hook it up to my Mac, and run Carbon Copy Cloner. Then I
put it back in the box, carry it back to work and store it in our server
room until next month. It looks like new, works great, and is in the
original box. The only detraction is that I've written my name, address and
phone on the cardboard box since it was being stored at work in our server
room. I didn't want someone thinking it belonged to my work.

I was able to boot from this G-DRIVE after cloning my Mac's internal hard
drive out to this external drive. Two things you need to know about making
a bootable Firewire drive.

1.] I used this drive on PowerMac G4 so it was partitioned using Apple
Partition Map. While you can use it that way on an Intel Mac you won¹t be
able to boot from it. If you want to be able to boot from it using an Intel
Mac you'll need to repartition it using Apple's Disk Utility and select GUID
Partition Map.

2.] Use Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper to clone your hard drive. Both
programs are free to use but if you pay for CCC you don't have to look at
the ads and if you pay for SuperDuper you get additional features. I like
both programs for different reasons. Both can clone over your internal hard
disk and make a bootable, external drive.

The G-DRIVE comes in it's original box, power supply, and Firewire 400 & 800
cables. I will wrap the G-DRIVE box in bubble wrap and place that inside
another box for shipping. I will ship it via FedEx Ground and supply you
with the tracking number. Free shipping to the 48 contiguous United States.
I will only ship to US. I¹m asking $90 and that includes the FedEx shipping
with tracking and insurance. Must be paid via PayPal to
<tom.r...@earthlink.net> and I will ship it within 1~2 days.

Please email me if you have any questions.

Thank you very much!
