I am selling my wife¹s previous laptop, an Apple MacBook Pro, with a 15-inch screen, and it is the rarer matte screen, not the more common high glare surface. The screen and keyboard are in like new condition and the exterior is around an eight, on a scale of ten. It looks great, but I see a small ding in one place on the bottom and a couple of ticks here and there. It's always been closed with a thin pad to protect the keys from marking the screen. The laptop works fine and has been reformatted and a fresh install of the Mac operating system installed. We upgraded the RAM and the hard drive, for performance, so instead of the standard spinning hard drive, this has a speedy OWC SSD drive - they are much faster and use less power, which is great when using it off the battery. Airport works great.
I am including an external 120 GB Verbatim drive that is set up for automatic Time Machine back-ups (it could be used for additional storage). When I was rebuilding the system, I encountered a note on the battery that states ³Service battery². In my 20+ years of working on Apple systems (for hire) I have not encountered this. The laptop works fine off the battery (and recharges the battery) and works fine when plugged in (how my wife usually used it). Rather than replace the battery, I have included sources for battery replacements (around $5090). If you need/want to replace it, you can. I'm discounting the price mindful of this, since it works fine as it is.
