I really dislike throwing things out, so I'm hoping this is useful to
someone...
Sony DVD DRU-530A in a really nice white molded plastic external case.
The drive is supposed to do CD -R and -RW, DVD -R -RW +R and +RW.
The case has *both* USB and Firewire400 on it!!!!!
I hooked it up to my QuickSilver (running Tiger). System Profiler
and iTunes see the drive both via USB and FW (no, not at the same
time! lol). But when I try to play a known-working audio disc, I get
nothing but media i/o errors via either interface. I tried using a
cleaning disc, but that didn't help.
At this point, I believe the drive is foo, but the case is sooo nice
and has both interfaces and a working power supply! Slap in a
working drive, and you should be good to go! I'm hoping someone will
want this baby for the cost of shipping...
Total shipping weight is a bit under 6 pounds.
A medium flat rate USPS Priority Mail box ... $11.10 including paypal fees.

If noone wants this by 14-Dec, it's going to the county recycling center...
