Hello Swappers,
I have an iBook to offer.It is a 600 MHZ/128MB/20GB/DVD Model A1005
Original working 45W power adaptor, model A1036.
All original and has signs of use but not ugly and beat up. Here is what I
know about it. I took it on a partial trade. They told me they took it to a
repair and were told it needed an invertor. The price they were quoted was
more than they cared to spend so now I have it. It fires up and gives the
mac tone. If you put a disk in the drive you can hear the drive spin up and
the disk will be warm so I do believe the DVD drive works. The screen went
blank slowly of a period of months and if they moved the lid it would work
until eventually no matter what position the lid was in there would be
nothing on the screen. Im inclined to believe the inverter or more likely a
wire/cable at the hinge being bad.
This is the 12 inch model and the keyboard is in real nice condition. The
battery charges and shows all four lights. If I had an adapter I would try
to hook up to an external monitor but since I cant do that I will offer this
as parts. I am sure it is working but since I get no screen I can only go
with parts. Looking for offers over $50, plus shipping, a flat rate box is
$14 I believe. I will consider trades. Interested in an iPod (really, I
havent got one) or a big SATA hard drive for the old G5. Cash always works.
This is really a pretty decent iBook and worst case will be an excellent
parts machine. Comes with the power adapter
