Greetings, Swappers:
I have been bitten by two Aluminum PowerBooks with memory slot
failure--both of which the lower slot died first and then the upper
slot died second (my latest isn't dead yet but is limping along with
a 512MB memory module, but that won't last long). I like this model
of PowerBook because it can handle the AirPort Extreme card and can
still boot OS 9 applications, which I still need.
What I'd like is an Aluminum PowerBook with reliable memory slots,
and I do NOT have to have a hard drive or AirPort Extreme card. I
would be happy to trade the carcasses (no HD or AirPort card) of the
two Aluminum Powerbooks I have--both are the 1.75mhz models, and one
has a backlit keyboard.
I'd also entertain other solutions, as what I need is something that
can connect to my main computer via Firewire and be able to run OS 9
applications (not boot into OS 9--just run applications). Mac Guru
advice welcomed!
