this brave lady[18 years old;a member of the moscow komosol and
partisan] was unfortunately caught and executed.she was caught setting light
to german stables in the village of petrischevo; although she was tortured
the germans didn't extract any information from her.tragically because of
this the gallant lady was hanged on 29th november 1941.
the sign the germans put around her neck during execution
said........"she set fire to houses".just before her execution ; being
typically defiant.she turned to a german and said..............."YOU CAN'T
HANG ALL 190 MILLION OF US".
lidin,a war reporter for pravda discovered the story of
zoia.he saw her frozen,tortured body with the rope around her neck 2 weeks
later.his story made her a national heroine and a symbol of partisan
restistance.
