I ran the verson check script in Slax and it could not find bison,
yacc or makeinfo. Did you customise slax with extra packages?

Currently I have an old LFS livecd (r2145) to fall back on should I
need to rescue my LFS box but I am nervous about how old it's kernel
is. (I believe it is already too old to host a modern LFS build.)
