Thank you all. The problem was indeed that Shadow owned su. Thanks for all
the responses. RTFM has got me everytime with LFS. But, after wiping egg
off face, finishing my humble pie, its been a great learning tool. Again,

Problem: After installing Shadow(v-4.0.9) /bin/su returns error
"setgid:Operation not permitted". The /tools/bin/su still works
