Hello all, There seem to be quite a few people on this list with a more academic background, both in research and teaching, so it seems like a good group to approach with this question =)
I do some interesting things with code, mostly with censorship and free expression in mind, and am interested in more... defined research. I do bits of research from time to time, but mostly with social factors. As some of you know, I came at censorship from a social angle, working with people who were actively filtered/monitored/censored online. Later, this led to my interest in networking. (For most people, I suspect that this is the opposite of their experience). For a variety of personal reasons, I would be looking to begin applying for graduate programs in 2016. There are lots of great people who do some amazing research, and I'd really like to participate. Research is awesome =) I'm running a small research project now and it's fairly limited in scope because I only rarely hang out with other researchers and am not sure that anyone actually cares about this stuff. Thoughts? Ideas? Et cetera? ~Griffin [0] Possible downside: I don't have a bachelor's degree. (My major is psychology, and when we last met, my advisor recommended that I consider testing out of the rest of my degree, which seems like a fairly reasonable approach). -- Liberationtech is public & archives are searchable on Google.
