I wanted to pass along information about two exciting chances next week to
engage with a senior delegation of 20 members of parliament from 11
countries around the use of ICTs to enhance governance.

The National Democratic Institute <http://www.ndi.org> (NDI), sponsored by
the Department of State, is hosting a visit of dynamic youth and women
lawmakers from Colombia, Georgia, Ghana, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Kosovo,
Nepal, Peru, Serbia and Tunisia. The visit is focused on the impact of
technology on governance, openness and transparency, and new opportunities
for civic innovation.

The group will be participating in two public events in San Francisco and
Silicon Valley next week:

On *Wednesday, February 18, from 5:30pm to 8:00pm*, please join us at
Institute for the Future in Palo Alto.

The delegation will be joined by some fascinating civic innovators,
including Pia Mancini, whose popular TED talk

you
may have seen last year. *You can view the details and RSVP for that event
here.* <http://techdem.eventbrite.com/> Please feel free to share the
invitation with others who might be interested.

On *Thursday, February 19, at 6:30pm,* please join us at the Commonwealth
Club of San Francisco.
