I think there is the option -headless missing. That's what is working for me

[Libreoffice] LibreOffice on Vietnam Television Channel 2: Moving to LibO is a must

2011-04-17 Thread Nguyen Vu Hung (KiEi)
Hello all,

OOo has been a (recommended) alternative office suite to MSO in
Vietnamese public sector
which is stated in a national decision.

However, since the fork, the government had to choose between OOo and LibO.

There was a debate that which one is better.
OK, that is why I was on the TV proving that LibreOffice is the choice :)

I hope there will be an updated decision that replaces OOo by LibO :),

And here is the video (Vietnamese)

[Libreoffice] [PATCH] preliminary autolayout patches

2011-04-17 Thread cocofan
I have a preliminary Autolayout project git patches in tar.gz file(for
convenience). I'm not sure how to merge patches in git.
It has all the code from the previous 2009 patch but doesn't fully
work. The reading and writing to the config file is disabled for now as
it keeps getting a segmentation fault for some reason. I'll continue to
look into why later in the week (I need to do a class project right
now).

[Libreoffice] Macro recording: how unstable is unstable?

2011-04-17 Thread Ben McGinnes
Hello,
I originally asked this on the users mailing list, but every
response (well, both of them) have directed me here.

Currently the record macro option, which was active by default in
OpenOffice.org, is disabled by default and activated via the enable
experimental (unstable) features option in Tools Options General.

I am curious to know just what degree of instability activating this
or permanently activating this can or will produce. Will it crash
LibreOffice? Will it trash data? Does it only cause problems under
certain circumstances? Or does it chew up large amounts of memory?

What form does this instability actually take and which bug number(s)
are attempting to address it?

It's not a huge hassle, at the moment I just activate it when I want
to record a macro and deactivate afterwards, but curiosity is
beginning to get the better of me.

Ben

As Andreas points out, it seems the problem is that in 3.3 -conver-to
implied -headless, in 3.4 it does not.

The attached patch fixes the issue for me. Does it look sane?

Thanks.

It's no more unstable now than it was when it was by default always
available, as in the inherited OpenOffice.org base. It's marked
experimental less due to instability than because it's incomplete and
likely to disappoint in general.
