Not much has changed. I wouldn't apply "random" attributes to the anchored
object but also don't have serious concerns. I suspect the idea is to have a
color-as-transparency feature, which neither

For good reason. Most users likely don't see the type of anchor as a reason to

Attachment 174530 from bug 144018 has 60% transparency over the image (and
adjacent characters) in the last paragraph, which shows that Word doesn't have
the proposed feature :)
