I'd say this should be a WONTFIX.
The general rule is "save as close to the document model as possible. This
means that adding stuff not present in model is a no-go. After such a save,

It is good to know that LibreOffice currently does break the lines in .txt
files on ~10k characters which is filed as bug 70423.
