This bug persists with 3.5.1 (Ubuntu 10.4)
For me, it also manifests itself in two other situations:
1) Simply opening any document based on a template
2) File -> New From

Before the test where I had problems I don'n remove or replace my LO profile.
It was not mentioned in the documentation and I never did it with
OpenOffice.org and past versions of L

A fresh isnstall of openSUSE 12,1 and then deinstallation of the LibreOffice
4.2.x comming with SUSE helped.
After it the installation of LibreOffice.org 3.5.0 worked well - as exp
