Did you report this to Kubuntu also? When it will work on the same machine with
another windowmanager it seems to be a problem of the windowmanager.

In fact, the kubuntu 13.10 update from 13.04 on a very old insallation (6
distribution upgrade) was a complete mess and a lot of bugs appears after my
