I'm a long-term localizer and member of TDF and I would like to request an
increase in my rights on the Pootle translation server so I can deal with
addition of new localizers and locales and similar low-key stuff.
I don't intend to get involved with the more technical issues such as
committing l10n data from the server as there are already functioning processes
in place. But recently there have been a number of requests on the l10n list
from new contributers which either were not answered or took a long time in
dealing with, presumably because the folk with admin rights are busy (which is
ok of course, not trying to apportion blame but help out).
As for the admin side of a Pootle server, I already hold superuser rights on
the Mozilla Pootle server to fulfill exactly this role, so I'm familiar with
the low-key processes that I'm interested in (giving rights to a new user,
setting up a new locale - basically just these two).
I believe it's really important that new contributer requests are dealt with
efficiently as we still have many dormant and missing locales.
