I have the same problem with LO 4.4.3.2. This affects not only calc, also
swriter -o file
soffice -o file
crashes.
In general command line support is totally broken, because any command line

I can confirm the problem with opening documents from commandline.
It started from 4.3.x version.
It is probbaly not connected to any particular document type but to startup of
LibreOffice.
