            Bug ID: 88186
Summary: Enhancement Request: Drop Down lists in Base tables
                    (like in Access)
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 4.5.0.0.alpha0+ Master
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: Database
          Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: mrmister...@hotmail.com

Problem description:
Current versions don't allow Drop Down lists in Base tables, when we have
relationships among several tables. Sometimes this feature is very useful,
because people not always are using forms to introduce data. Many people use
directly the table to introduce the data.

Steps to reproduce:
NONE. Just using the program.

Current behavior:
Base don't allow drop down lists in tables, like Access.

Expected behavior:
Let's imagine I create a drop down list in Base, in such a way I can see a list
of values I've added (like for example Gender, Male, Female) without having to
type those values.
That would be great, the possibility to create drop down lists.
But also, this is very important when we have a relationship among tables.
Let's imagine I want to relate the table employees with the table cars. Every
car model and maker, of course, have a number. 1 - Mercedes Benz E300, 2 - BMW
5 Series, 3 Honda Civic...
Due I have a 1 to 1 relationship in both tables (one employee could be related
to a single car) of course, inside the table employees, I would be able to
introduce the car that is assigned to that particular employee.
Actually I can do that, perfectly.
The problem is, that, because I cannot have Drop Down lists in Base, I have to
remember the car code 1, 2, 3... etc. and introduce that code.
Let's imagine I want to assign BMW 5 Series to my employee John Doe... well
then I would have to type 2... because BMW 5 Series is registered with the
number 2 in the cars table.
Okay, that is complicated, becuase if I have 50 or 100 cars, I cannot remember
that and I would have to have opened the other table... a mess.
In Access you can use drop down lists... that is you would be able to see a
list with the values of the relationship, or also, creating a current drop down
list with your own values.
This is a very weak point from Base, and this should change.
Have in mind, sometimes, people like to use tables to introduce data inside,
without using forms... so the drop down lists are very necessary.

The behaviour should be like in this video:
