Bug ID: 90380 Summary: VIEWING: Navigator causes constant cpu usage when it does not have focus in documents with lots of text frames and images Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.4.1.2 rc Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: gordon1dr...@yahoo.com Using this document as an example: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/images/2/2f/WG42-WriterGuideLO.odt Independent Navigator (not in Sidebar, but docked on left): 1. Open Task Manager or Resource Monitor. 2. Open document. 3. Open Navigator. Note: There is an initial spike of 25% while the document is loading. 4. Expand Text frames and Images in Navigator. 5. Place cursor in document. Result: Cpu usage is 15%. Scrolling through the document is slow. 6. Click on something in the Navigator. Result: Cpu usage drops to anywhere from 1% to 3%. 7. New Text Document or switch to a different application. Result: Cpu usage jumps back up to 15%. Navigator in Sidebar: 1. 8. Hide Sidebar. 9. Place cursor in document. Result: Cpu usage is 15%. Once Text frames and Images have been expanded, collapsing them does not drop the cpu usage when the cursor is in the document. If you collapse these objects then close and reopen the Navigator, then the cpu usage remains low. Hiding the Navigator in the Sidebar is not the same as closing it and still results in constant cpu usage.
