IMO the issue is muddy.
I'm not too happy that embedded HSQLDB does that implicit save, which has been
a source of overall brittleness, problems with data corruption, etc.

I would suggest testing with a currently supported version of LibreOffice. 4.2
has been end of life for some time. 5.0 is currently our main branch and can be
