Regarding Startpage, I researched further.
It seems that the content is loaded, but hidden with a CSS rule.[0]
I'm not sure why this happens. If I disable LibreJS for the page,
everything works fine.

By "activating the new beta" I meant clicking on the link that lets you try the
new version, because I thought the link I gave wasn't enough, but I'm starting
to suspect that the behaviour is caused by LibreJS. I'll research further
tomorrow when I'll be at my computer.
